The Beast of Brymbo

Locals still talk of a creature that stalks the woods and valleys near Brymbo — a monstrous beast, seen by few but feared by many. Descriptions vary, some say it’s wolf-like with matted fur and unnaturally long limbs. Others claim it’s more spectral, a shifting shadow that never quite reveals itself.

Brymbo is surrounded by pockets of ancient woodland, long thought to be home to Tylwyth Teg — the Welsh fairies. Described as mischievous but beautiful, they are said to dance in moonlit clearings, play tricks on travellers, and even steal children… unless appeased with sweet offerings.
